My car is making a weird noise when I drive. Should I be worried?
It depends on the noise. A low humming might just be your tires, but a grinding, squealing, or clunking sound could mean something’s wrong with your transmission or brakes. If the sound is new, loud, or getting worse, book an inspection sooner rather than later. Early fixes are almost always cheaper.
My transmission feels like it's slipping. What does that mean?
If your car suddenly revs up but doesn’t speed up with it (like it’s struggling to shift gears) your transmission might be slipping. This can be caused by low transmission fluid, worn-out parts, or internal damage. You should come in soon before it leads to a full transmission failure.
There’s a burning smell when I drive. Is that serious?
Yes. A burning smell could be caused by leaking transmission fluid, overheated brakes, or even an electrical issue. None of those are safe to ignore. Stop driving if the smell is strong, and call us, we’ll guide you from there.
My car won’t move when I shift into gear. What now?
That’s usually a sign of a serious transmission issue. It could be fluid-related, mechanical failure, or electrical. Either way, don’t force it, continuing to try to drive can cause more damage. Call us and we can help arrange a pick-up.
The check engine light is on, but the car drives fine. Should I still come in?
Yes, eventually. A check engine light can mean something minor — like a sensor — or something more serious that affects performance or emissions. If it’s blinking, come in immediately. If it’s just on solid and your car feels normal, you can book for later this week or next, but don’t leave it too long.
I just want a routine check-up. How far in advance should I book?
If your vehicle feels fine and there are no warning signs, you can usually book a few days or a week out. We’ll do a full inspection, change fluids if needed, and catch any small problems before they grow.
